This article applies to:
Windows 7 SP1
Outlook 2010

PROBLEM
User is required to enter password every time Outlook starts. This typically happens after user changes his password or after his mailbox is moved from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.


CAUSE
Obsolete credentials stored in Windows 7 Credentials Manager.

SOLUTION
1) Open Crendentials Manager. Select Start / Control Panel / User Accounts and Family Safety / Credential Manager / Manage Windows Credentials
2) Remove Outlook related entries. Select the entry and then select Remove from vault.
3) Close and reopen Outlook client. The user will be asked for password. Enter the password and select Rememember my credentials option.

After this Outlook should not ask for password any more.
